Have you heard of the place Yackandandah
where the flies are so big that they brand yer?
There’s a caravan park
that they say hits the mark
and to most tastes they try hard to pander.

Have you been up to see Uluru?
It's a bloody great rock this is true.
But there’s dingoes galore
so don’t camp on the floor
of your tent - just in case they get you.

There was a bloke from Dirranbandi
who thought a Maccas would be handy
he quite fancied fries
but not seasoned with flies
and he only drank Vok Cherry Brandy


No doubt you know Glenny has gone
up to Theodore – crocs tagged along.
Now in the moonlight
they sit posting at night
‘cause they miss the old bush poets throng.

I like those Maureen.

Zondrae's effort has inspired an idea for a homework suggestion.

What about a poem of two or three or more stanzas in which each stanza is in limerick form. The challenge is to make all the stanzas relate into a coherent whole. It's a difficult one I think, but could be worth the effort.

You getting into my head Neville - I had thought the next challenge would be to put together some of these individual limericks from this fortnights poetry into a cohesive grouping and then the challenge was to convert it into a piece of bush verse. Zondrae;s poem sparked that idea.
