Briggses are a sturdy mob,
Of solid Saxon strain.
Our forebears roved the savage sea,
Futtocks firm on each campaign.
Heaven brought us to this land.
Engaged in honest duty,
Astraya's now the place we rove
Despite that red-haired beauty.

... flapping futtocks in the wind would be a worry too. So make sure you tie them down ...

Love it Neville, and futtock sounds much better than ship's rib (refering to previous thread about use of language/ choosing good words).
Well done
Robyn

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I read all the replies
Maureen,I realize that it is just a bit of pretty ordinary stuff, but I haven't been able to get anything going lately, so I just plunged in and sort of put down anything that sounded a bit facetious and a play on some words.
And Maureen isn't homework meant to be exercise, not necessarily to turn out polished or " complete ' works.
Ah Robyn, Bob, ....Boofhead, just seemed a bit of a whimsical title to use.
I loved Boofhead the cartoon man. My favourite cartoon is where Boofhead applies to the Registrar General to change his name,
The clerk at the counter says
" What is your name "
Boofhead replies " Boofhead "
The clerk says " No wonder you want change your name, what do you want to be called now ? "
Boofhead says " Blockhead "

...........

well I thought it was funny.
