I dunno about this!
On Stage
I know the words I’m ready when I get on stage to recite
Standing straight a perfect picture; I don’t feel any fright.
I use my voice; the words I speak are clearly defined and loud.
The urgency’s there; I feel the thrill arising from the crowd!
I feel so grand up here; everyone’s listening to me.
The crowd response is great; the room is filled with glee!
All’s fine I’m doing well but then I suddenly stop to think:
‘Why the hell the laughing, maybe something is out of sync?’
My head it hurts, my heart it races, my tummy starts to quiver.
No one has ever laughed before at The Man from Snowy River.
I see that dunny paper down my back, a flowing stream
but then I wake and thanks to God it’s all a horrid dream!
