Homework for week ending 13/08/12 - RSPCA Cupcake Day

Post by Maureen K Clifford » Mon Jul 30, 2012 11:49 am

No doubt some are caught up in Olympic Fever and some are not. I found the article in the Sunday rags re the drug testing a bit worrying - apparently the drugs are winning all they seem able to do is try and keep a lid on it. have no idea where that leaves things with competitive sport - if you get caught you're out - but if you don't and you have won medals - have you really won medals?

And then the fiasco of 12000 empty seats when athletes trying to buy tickets for their families are told there are no seats. How disappointing that must be for all concerned. Just proves that sometimes the things given for nothing are not valued by the recipients and these seats originally allocated to foreign countries for their dignatories etc are empty and the countries concerned have not had the courtesy  to advise that they would not be using them, thus freeing them up for sale to those who wanted them - desperately.

Courtesy, manners, etiquette and consideration were once attributes highly prized - not so much these days apparently. :( and the young lady who gatecrashed the Indian teams parade during the opening ceremony - looking like a bright red pimple on a yellow pumpkin obviously had none of them.

So perhaps these prompts might spark a bit of interest - I am sure you can manage something from them - if not well I tried and without drugs

Rings

Skydiving Queen

Revolution

Willow

Wenlock and Mandeville

Toffs in Toppers

In your capable hands to do with as you choose. Use, don't use, abuse - can't be bothered?? Snooze.

Cheers

I may not always succeed in making a difference, but I will go to my grave knowing I at least tried.
