THE DOG ATE IT.
(c)M.Pattie 2012
I issue my apology for stretching the chronology
of the time frame; my homework it is late.
So I’m quickly waxing lyrical, attempting a satirical
piece of gumph before the closing date.
I’m not sure of the specifics of such rhyming hieroglyphics
that multi-syllabalistic Maureen asks?
Not being that meticulous I’ll settle for a ridiculous
attempt at the completion of such tasks.
For it’s sometimes hard to try and tell the bush poetry clientele;
a big word can be a crude device.
For the damage that’s collateral as I literalise the lateral,
a diminutive will adequately suffice
My head’s in knots, the task is hellish, upon this theme I can’t embellish
upon the sluggish piss-poor wit o’ me.
Words are fired off verbally, I resort to some hyperbole,
which it seems is of the epitome.
So a Sunday arvo exhibition, bugger this; let’s go fishin’
It’s harder than it seems I will admit
So I shout out “bloody hallelujah!” Done and dusted that’ll do ya
Crack a nice cold can and hit “submit”
