HOMEWORK PROMPT/s FOR WEEK ENDING 13/05/13

Post by Maureen K Clifford » Sun Apr 28, 2013 7:59 pm

An excellent suggestion to hand from Marty and that is that we write to a project that his brother is involved with which is associated with our troops involvement with the battle at Polygon Wood.

Coming so soon after Anzac Day and with it fresh in the minds of us all I am sure we can put our minds into gear and write a factual poem relating to one of the events detailed on the web site

http://www.polygonwood.com/Polygon%20Wo ... %20Map.htm

and I don't mean the BarBQ    Have a browse through the site. There is a wealth of information, pictures, true stories, battle details etc etc so pick your mark and go to it.

I am sure Marty will be happy to onforward anything that is written to his brother and I would would imagine that were poets to write a poem relating to one mans experience there, then that poem with your permission would be able to be forwarded on to the relatives. What a wonderful gift that would be.

So put your best foot forward folks and get marching. Lets do these men proud. Lest we forget

Thank you Marty for that suggestion and thank you fellow poets for the wonderful words I know you are going to pen.

To all of those who met the last challenge I thank you - it wasn't easy but as expected you met the challenge admirably. Well done everyone

Cheers

Maureen

I may not always succeed in making a difference, but I will go to my grave knowing I at least tried.
