PROMPTS FOR HOMEWORK W/E 10/6/13

These fortnights seem to just be flying by but time always speeds up as you get older. As a kid the week seemed to take ages to pass and the week stretched very long between weekends but now - sometimes I almost miss it.

Thank you again for those who had a shot at the last lot of prompts - sometimes it helps to get the old brainbox working. There have been comments made on writers block and lack of inspiration and the length of time some take to write a poem. I truly believe that the secret to overcoming that is to just write. It might be crap, it may not be technically correct or the rhyme and metre may be off - doesn't matter - just do it. File it and then go back to it at a later stage and see if it is worth 'polishing'. You might just be amazed, but procrastination is the thief of time - because while you are taking time out overthinking the problem you ain't doing nuffin

So bearing that in mind lets see you work your magic with this lot...

Sunshine on ice

White fur

Underwater

Mother love

Over the bridge

Looking down

Cheers

Maureen

I agree with you Maureen. This is a workshop and workshops are meant to be untidy and have a few failed projects chucked in the corner.

The English poet, John Whitworth suggests that every now and again we should write something deliberately bad and silly just to clear off, what he called, the nagging parrot that sits on our shoulder saying " get it right, get it right "

Speaking for myself I can assure anybody out there who wants to "ave a go. Please do so. I don't snigger or sneer at anyone having a try.
