The light of love

Across the room I saw her with eyes of emerald green
long dark flowing tresses, her features sharp and clean.
Our eyes met then in silence as the moonlight shone above
my heart filled with an inner glow, Was this the light of love ?

I rose and stumbled forward like a blind man in the dark
her beauty filled my soul as cupids arrow found its mark.
She looked at me with wonder then I let out a silent scream
as the thunder and the lightning strike awoke me from my dream.
