Homework Prompts for week ending 12th August 2014

We had a terrific response to the last lot of homework prompts and well done to everyone who had a shot at it - there were some good poems that came out of it IMO.
Sitting here today you could be forgiven for thinking it was the middle of summer it is a beautiful day and being near the river and having a couple of big trees in my garden I am blessed with melodious birdsong in the background - the little feathered divas are hard at work. Do we all take the time to really appreciate what is in our own backyard. Regardless of whether it be a small suburban plot, an acreage or a huge country property, a boat moored on a river, a caravan touring the outback - we are blessed to live in a beautiful country and yet thousands leave our shores every year to travel OS without having seen their own country.
Your challenge for the nest fortnight is to write a poem about the things in 'your backyard' that are beautiful - things you may never really have considered before. The tiny pink flower on a clover if you study it in detail is beautiful. A feather dropped by a passing bird - see how it shimmers in the sunlight - gorgeous isn't it? The birds nest lined with your old dogs fur - I have a few of these - Mahalia's fur is keenly sought by the birds in my garden.
Lets see what you can come up with and if you a picture to share at the same time all the better - to kick off I'll share on of mine but I am sure our mob would love to see and read about .... THE BEAUTY IN MY GARDEN
Go to it
Cheers
