The stranger
You lookin for trouble well are ya ? I tell ya just get in line mate
there's plenty who'll take you on here and quickly sit you on your date.
So don't come the raw prawn with me just sit down and finish ya drink
We're here for a quiet one on Sunday, don't come in here causing a stink.
He'd been drinking all day in the local and he could hardly bloody well walk
but he was stirring the locals with bad attitude and gee's the bastard could talk.
Loud mouthed and brash from the grog he was sprouting some horrible stuff
about how he could ride horses, find cleanskins but we reckoned that was all bluff.
Blue said he'd fight him for nuthin and sit him flat on his tail
but we quietened him down with a tonic mixed a schooner of ale.
The stranger went quiet for a while as there in the corner he sat
The publican refusing to serve him and threw him his battered old hat.
The pub then seemed suddenly quiet as we all sat around at the bar
For though he was pissed as a newt he still drove away in his car.
He was never again seen in town mate and things settled down really fine
Where he ended up well I can tell ya, your guess is as good as mine.
