"Help! I Need Somebody. Help! Not just anybody ..."

Post by alongtimegone » Sat Jan 03, 2015 1:42 pm

My TV isn’t working. The picture keeps on winking.
Should I call the doctor now or just keep right on drinking?
But no! I can’t. This bloody phone line’s up the freakin’ creek.
At this rate I’ll be isolated fair into next week.

The anger that I’m feeling’s got me climbing up the wall.
Abandonment! Neglect! The bitter anguish of it all.
You’d think that in this day and age there’d be no need of waiting
for someone to empower me – my God it’s so frustrating.

My PC’s also stuffed you see. So at my desk I sit.
I've got this tablet thingo and it’s just a piece of s̶h̶ junk.
Now where’s the on switch? There it is. Right! Now we’re up to bat.
Just switch it on and … what! Aah shite. The bleeding battery’s flat.

May the power be with you soon Maureen. :)

Oh that is clever and very good and the power is with me. Do you want to know the freakiness of this episode and I have no logical explanation. Three days after the event with still nothing working and numerous phone calls to different people led to the following

The computer bloke came out and bugger me it that computer didn't fire right on up :? He took it away for 2 days and did nothing but start it up and turn it off over and over and it never missed a beat - he bought it back virtually untouched and it is still going.

Day 5 the phone decided it would work again

After ringing the TV manufacturer and explaining what had happened the decision was that the TV had gone to God and was probably not worth fixing, so a new TV was ordered and is in transit as we speak. Last night I noticed the standby light come on and you guessed it - it's working  :o Can't stop the other one from coming - Now is that spooky or what

Just like a young child's visit to the dentist Maureen, suddenly the tooth stops aching. :)
Happy that you liked the poem.

Good one Wazza, the next step would no doubt have been a tablet and a good lie down! :D

Maybe a valium Ron. :D

Yep ... the early Elvis came first for me Neville, but the mop tops certainly clinched it when they arrived on the scene.
