Writing Homework - Tell her She's Dreamin'

Tell Her She’s Dreamin’

Thought I’d buy gold lotto. I thought I’d have a go!
Money was pretty tight and life was oh so slow.
I went off like a bride’s nightie got a quick pick.
So mate no worries for now I’ll give work the flick.

Good things come to those who wait; I waited long enough:
Paved with good intentions … my road was really rough.
In for a penny in for a pound – gunna’ win.
Then for sure I’ll be the one sporting a huge grin!

I waited and watched for good things come to those who wait;
I was just hoping that wealth would be my fate;
And then the penny dropped or was that the ball?
And I heard my mother’s words ‘Pride before a fall.’

But not today dear mum! My fate was signed and sealed
As with six straight numbers my future was revealed.
Hells bells and buggy wheels, crikey and flamin’ struth.
I was a millionaire! A rat with a gold tooth.

Oh how quickly naked truth hit me with a thud
As my blimmin’ ticket was really just a dud;
For I awoke and all was not as it might seem
For those millions were really just a happy dream!

Cheers

Dot

Thanks Maureen.
I enjoyed the writing and a great idea even if my technique is a bit rough.
Yeah I started off thinking of a of A rat with a gold tooth and it all came from there. I must admit I know a few that " a good Catholic schoolgirl shouldn't" Fun though! Thanks for all the work you put in.
By the way every time I see a dog joke I think of you!

Cheers
Dot

Whatever it takes Dot - whatever it takes :lol: I love animals as most people know so that works for me - mind you with 'doggirl' on one of my email addresses I do get some VERY weird spam and I am not sure it is animal friendly :shock: :? :o :roll:

Thanks Catherine. I have continued to work at it after posting as could see lots of glitches but it is enjoyable.
