Tell Her She’s Dreamin’
Thought I’d buy gold lotto. I thought I’d have a go!
Money was pretty tight and life was oh so slow.
I went off like a bride’s nightie got a quick pick.
So mate no worries for now I’ll give work the flick.
Good things come to those who wait; I waited long enough:
Paved with good intentions … my road was really rough.
In for a penny in for a pound – gunna’ win.
Then for sure I’ll be the one sporting a huge grin!
I waited and watched for good things come to those who wait;
I was just hoping that wealth would be my fate;
And then the penny dropped or was that the ball?
And I heard my mother’s words ‘Pride before a fall.’
But not today dear mum! My fate was signed and sealed
As with six straight numbers my future was revealed.
Hells bells and buggy wheels, crikey and flamin’ struth.
I was a millionaire! A rat with a gold tooth.
Oh how quickly naked truth hit me with a thud
As my blimmin’ ticket was really just a dud;
For I awoke and all was not as it might seem
For those millions were really just a happy dream!
Cheers
