DONE … Maureen Clifford © The Scribbly Bark Poet

He was done for break and enter – they caught him with silver spoons
and a heap of tawdry trinkets, and some loved precious heirlooms.
He had stolen some war medals and that really got folks riled
it showed scant consideration and memories he’d defiled.
But the coppers caught him quickly he was really not that smart
he had dropped beneath the window a charge invoice from Kmart,
giving all the information on which the police did zoom
make and model, registration, car repair finished at noon.

So the moral of the story is if you set out to rob
other people of their property then best do a good job
for today with our technology a harsh price you might pay
for your thieving and light fingers and your slack and errant way.
Get a job mate – go do something that’s productive, honest, clean
and don’t bludge upon society or rob folks – that’s just mean.
When you get caught and jail is where the Courts say you will go,
suck it up Princess, don’t whinge and whine, all’s free in there you know.

In case you are wondering some low life stole an old blokes war medals here recently, the coppers caught this thieving low life and he was whinging like billy oh about how tough HIS life was . My immediate thought was I hope that they jail this Richard Head and throw away the bloody keys - so many people at the moment with no respect at all for themselves, others or society. Oxygen suckers the lot of them.

Yep, it's always someone else's fault!

Good advice Maureen - next time I rob a bank, I'll remember not to drop the evidence at the door ;)

Cheers, Shelley

A slap on the wrist is his most likely sentence Maureen,
But agree with what you suggest would be more appropriate.
We had the same thing over here this weekend.

Thanks for reading and commenting Shelley and Terry - it is a terrible thing to happen Terry - the medals are worthless to anyone other than family and most often highly cherished by the family. Obviously though not a matter of consideration to thieves.

Really like it and so topical at the moment. Some have no respect for anyone or anything. We were broken in to once and they took all our round silver 50cent pieces we were saving for the kids but worst of all was the fact that they had invaded our privacy, our home, our sacred place.
