If These Walls Could Talk.
'Twas many years ago she left during the winter thaw
and I still have not forgot her to this day.
I still feel now her sweet caress it chills me to the bone
more so when winters sky turns ghostly grey.
I still swear I see her walking when sun on snow heralds the melt
and clear water spreads across the dry flood plains.
Could it be a trick of light that shows her silhouette against the sky
or dreams that reignite those long forgotten pains.
I would watch as she lay sleeping gentle curls about her head
touch her lips with an awakening kiss.
She would stir ever so slowly and her smile would cheers my heart
it's the little things she did I really miss.
I don't know why she left that day we seemed so happy then
but it appears she wanted more then I could give.
If these walls could talk they'd tell of happiness far out of reach
no love just life that I alone must live.
