BARGAIN HUNT

Bargains for small change. Bargains for battlers.
Around the corner, down the road from Maccas.

The op shop bins get full to overflowing
with freely given gifts for charity.
There's piles of clothes and shoes and vinyl records;
old books and toys and well used crockery.
LPs and cassettes are redundant now
but cast off trash can be a special treasure.

And those who don't mind wearing hand-me-downs
sometimes find something almost latest style
and almost made-to-measure can be found.
They're not just getting shabby chic or retro;
it's someone else's life and someone's story
that others gave to do a kindly deed
( as long as it was something they don't need )

Bargains for small change. Bargains for battlers.
Around the corner, down the road from Maccas.

Good use of the prompts Neville - the repeated verse works well I think in this

Thanks Catherine. By the way, I did get a reply about the dog poems.

Good one Neville - and I agree with Catherine and Maureen, the repeated verse ties it all together. You can imagine someone standing on a street corner with a sign, shouting out those words to passersby.
