HOMEWORK PROMPTS FOR THE WEEK ENDING 16TH NOVEMBER 2015

Thank you to those who participated in the last lot of prompts - David's poem in particular was hard hitting. Such a shame that in this day and age where people could be considered to have 'everything' in comparison to their forebears, that this black shadow still lurks prominently over society. It must truly be a terrible thing to think that there is no other way out than to take your own life. And sadly the family of the victim are often left in a fog that never lifts. Endless questions and recriminations to which they will never find an answer. More families than we realize are touched by events such as David's poem portrayed. I lost my own Father in Law this way - and to this day - none of us know why and can only presume it was PTSD from the war years - that he covered up very well.
However we now are officially into Summer, with those long hazy days stretching before us and where better to point our poets than into the the direction of the beach and sea that girts our land.
Let's see what you can do with these people .....
where the seagulls pinched my fish and chips
the sand blew onto my towel
sun and surf and slip, slap, slop
budgie smugglers
yellow polka dot bikini
McTavish surfboards
Pick up your pens and pencils poets and paint your pictures in prose and poetry.
