Paper Wings

Paper wings placed in a box hidden with the shoes and sox
Sit a while and sort them out wonder what it's all about.
Ribbons, bows and plastic twine pull now at his heart of mine
Things grow darker through the years but still I shed some loving tears
The box is placed back in it's draw as I wonder what I kept it for
Just little things that make me glum, memories of my long lost mum.

How lovely Bob - that you have a keepsake drawer full of precious things of your Mums. No reason to feel sad when viewing the contents, rather recall the happy memories that she blessed you with.

Good use of the prompts in this lovely poem
