Not much good Maureen, but I had to have a go, even at the last minute.
I'S A SAD, SAD, SAD, WORLD.
Bill Haley rocked around the clock
and Buddy Holly's heart beat
in days when Southern Chapel song
got fried in Elvis' heat.
And even in Australia
where bodgies still wore ties,
our Johnny "Wild One " shook, to shout
up rebels on the rise.
It's six o'clock, uh huh, uh huh,
( they thought it poetry )
They screamed and cried;
shake, baby, shake.
Rock rocked, and music died.
