Cracked Cups Homework 14th March 2016

Post by alongtimegone » Fri Mar 11, 2016 9:55 am

Cracked Cups

Cracked cups! I’m thinking not for me.
Like … that’s a joke! Don’t you agree?
You’d think the club could spend a quid.
Cracked cups! I mean …well, God forbid

that I should have to suffer such
embarrassment. It’s just too much.
Imagine if the one I take
should further crack, or even break.

To be so parsimonious,
I tell you mate it’s odious.
Contemptible! It’s just not cricket.
Ah bum! There goes another wicket.

That’s three for … stone the bleedin’ crows.
They’re sending down some body blows.
Three for … guess that means I’m up,
reluctantly, with this cracked cup.

Oh well done! You used some inspired rhyme in these lines:
To be so parsimonious,
I tell you mate it’s odious.

Terrific use of the prompts and off on another tangent to what has come in previous as well - our poetic minds never cease to amaze me.

Love it Wazza! I can just picture you in your whites and pads, venturing from the clubhouse to face the fast bowlers!!!

Cheers, Shelley

Not only parsimonious,
but totally erroneous!

Though a cracked cup would be better than none at all, eh Wazza?

Cheers

Not something I like to picture Shelley. Tennis was my game - the balls were softer. :D

Cracked or whole David any game that necessitates the wearing of a protective device in that area is not for me. :D
