One on the house
She looked as pretty as a picture in her slim tight fitting jeans
her blouse was buttoned almost halfway down.
She must have been near 60 but could really hold her own
be it in casual or fancy evening gown.
I sat slowly down beside her and then offered a drink
a fluffy duck was her beverage of choice.
The way we hit it off was grand right then from the start
I was captured by her low and husky voice.
She did look a trifle overdone with makeup smeared on thick
perhaps described as mutton dressed as lamb.
Better that then fur and feathers was the thing that came to mind
at my age mate I could not give a dam.
She had done a lot of living and told me of her travels in the world
April in Paris, cruising in the south of France.
The evening it was epic and the time we spent just seem to fly
she held me close as we got up to dance.
I thought of my old mother and just what she would say
if she was still alive and saw me here tonight.
"Look what the cat dragged in" that her favourite saying
but treat them like a Queen and you'll be right.
We left the club at midnight and I scored an invite to her flat
just sit a while so we could both unwind.
Her invite to come in for a nightcap just could not be ignored
I answered yes with more then coffee on my mind.
Then she popped the question that I'd been waiting for
would I like to stay till morning for some fun.
Her flatmate would not mind and could we let her join in to
three is so much better then just one.
I quickly answered yes and thought all my dreams had come
the chance was one I really had to take.
But my hopes fell in the gutter as she hollered up the stairs
"Hey Mum I hope that you are still awake".
