TREADMILL ... Maureen Clifford © The #ScribblyBark Poet
There's quirky things a'hiding in the garden
one comes across them every now and then
in unexpected places - as you walk look left and right.
See there! A chain-sawed rooster and his hen.
It's good to see folks using parks and gardens
where beds of flowers strike such a pretty note
Campanulas and foxgloves softly waving
as white doves bill and coo on the Dovecote.
Young children bike riding with Gramps and Grandma
teeter totter quite precariously
despite the training wheels that are airlifted
by little legs peddling so furiously.
Young skateboarders freewheeling round the corners
popping an Ollie, as they swoop on by;
some weekend fun to lift a jaded spirit,
enjoy the sunshine 'neath an azure sky.
The world is round and we have come full circle
as round and round we travel - fast then slow.
Infinity with no end or beginning,
from pram to bike to wheelchair - then we go.
