Sorry, no rhyme came to me for this, but the prompts rang true.
Amidst a plethora of poets I took my place,
hoping I had reached an appropriate standard.
Public confidence was high,
that they would be entertained.
As I step up to the mike, I light a candle in my mind
in honour of my Dad, reflecting the luminous colour of
his love and pride.
Illuminated bridges connect the myriad memories
of my childhood and beyond.
