PROMPTS FOR DECEMBER 2024
Posted: Tue Dec 03, 2024 1:41 pm
Last one for the year folks - and we can all look back and give ourselves a pat on the back, because we got through it, with all its warts, worries and wobbly bits, and hopefully we are all anticipating a bit of time with family and friends and a brand new year coming up.
We all have much to be thankful for in reality. Life may not be perfect, some loved ones are missing, some of us have health issues, some may be struggling in ways that we are unaware of - but on we go, with our spirits undaunted .... and if we have to take baby steps, so be it; there is no shame in that, and we just keep on going, doing the best we can, until we feel stronger. The care and consideration of family and friends, and just everyone is a wonderful help and a reality check in many ways. Even after the darkest of days, here in Australia at least, the sun rises again in the morning and we have a new day ahead for us completely pristine - for those in countries where wars are running rampant their outlook is sadly so very different.
So December's poem should be a poem of appreciation and mindfulness and gratitude for all of the good things in our lives that we have. These prompts might help you along
take time to pause and breathe
no right or wrong - acceptance
count your blessings not your losses
express your gratitude
live every minute with love, grace, and appreciation
choose to be happy
Give it a go folks, we might find that what we manage to put on paper surprises even ourselves.
As John F Kennedy once said - "As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.”
Cheers,
Maureen
