JANUARY 2025 HOMEWORK PROMPTS

Another year begins and it is my sincere hope that it is a kinder year to us all than 2024 was - we deserve it. Despite its ups and downs we managed to produce between us some pretty good verse, and the always willing support and kind comments from our poetry mates helped many of us get through.
So to reflect on that, how about we make our first poem for 2025 one of optimism, kindness, love, consideration and respect - not just for ourselves but for the whole word and all who share it - that's the 2 legged and 4 legged as well as those with no legs or even perhaps only 1 leg. Across the world cruelty to animals seems to be ramping up, and when some have so little respect for human life I guess that comes as no surprise - but whilst as individuals we feel perhaps there is little we can do, as a group, who know how to use their voices, a group who can put words together, can stir emotions and make people want to read more - the poets of the world have a power which they are perhaps unaware of ... poets have a moral power that is exerted through their writing.
