Congratulations to Marty Boyce for being awarded a 'Double Tap' award for war poetry. Awarded for his poem 'Poppies', by the International War Veterans Poetry Archives.
These awards are not given 'lightly' & can't be applied for by the author & can only be nominated, then second' by a club member.
Again Congratulations mate.

Congratulations Marty...
Well deserved too. Recognition such as this is, in my opinion, far more satisfying than any competition result. It shows that your words have hit home with the people you are writing about.
Cheers, Will.

Good to hear Marty. It's interesting how the service or ex-services are still keen sponsors of the arts. Maybe its something about the experience of war that only can be said in the distilled language of poetry.

Hey Neville...
I don't mean to hi-jack Marty's thread, but just had to jump in when I read your "distilled language". That is how I feel about poetry in a nutshell really.
'distil'...verb...to vaporize and recondense (a liquid); to purify, separate, concentrate.
Nice.
I may adopt "distil language" as my motto!
Cheers, Will.
