I was looking through a book of Les Murray's poems and I was interested to find he had written a poem called " Laggan Cemetery "
It's only six lines. I guess that's about all that could be found to write about Laggan.

( just, teasing Marty

)
Yes, it is "free verse ".. try to suspend prejudice.

It's copyright so you'll have to look it up in the book.

It's not a great literary work perhaps, Bob, but interesting if you read it very carefully and think about what he is trying to convey in just a few lines.

I think Marty what comes to me is perhaps a hint of sadness of a once larger community which has faded somewhat so that the monuments to those who are gone is more noticeable than the places of those who are still there. A situation that could relate to many small towns in the sheep country, maybe ?
