At the risk of earning our esteemed webmaster's chagrin...........When the 'free verse' hullabaloo erupts, the following piece should offer some balance. I find this work quite delightful and very worthy of poetic validation. I like it very much, so I just want to share it. Hope you like it too.
(and that the author forgives my enthusiasm in posting without permission...I dunno how to find her.)

What small daily doings –
and undoings –
loosen the laces of
faith’s shiny Sunday shoes? –
I remember learning to tie them –
so proud –
over and under, loop around
and pull tight,
practicing carefully
seeking smiles.
What works loose those
securely tugged knots of certainty
in one’s self and one’s perceptions?
And when we trip on our
trailing laces
and sit looking at their
frayed and soiled ends,
when we can’t keep it
all tied up anymore,
should we switch to loafers,
or walk on in Truth’s barefoot freedom?
