G'day all,
Glad to be here, I have been a fan of bush poetry since I can remember, I still remember reciting The Man From Ironbark in primary school
I'm not a poet myself, however I have just started a podcast that is 100% dedicated to bush poetry, releasing a poem every single day forever - its my promise.
I searched and couldn't find anything out there in the podcast world that had anything like this so I figured I would be the one to do this.
At the moment I'm only 10 days in, and I know its easy to say you'll do something, but the follow through is the hard part - but I'm always one thats up for a challenge.
The plan is to bring bush poetry to people everyday by getting people to add the podcast to their favorite podcast list - something 3-5 minutes a day to mix up their daily routine.
I would love to support all people in the ABPA by playing their own reciting of their poetry or for me to recite the poetry on the podcast.
Anyway enough about me for the time being. I look forward to getting to know people in the community & hopefully get some of your poems on the podcast.
Alex.

Hi Alex
Welcome to the Forum!
Your podcast initiative sounds very innovative and anything that supports Aussie bush poetry is definitely a worthwhile endeavour! Thank you for giving us the link to subscribe.
To further your publicity, may I suggest that if you haven't already done so, you put a visitor's post about your podcast on the ABPA Facebook page?
Also there are a couple of avenues to advertise your podcast in print. One is the ABPA magazine. Contact the editor Neil McArthur at editor@abpa.org.au for advert prices.
Another avenue is the monthly poetry publication eMuse, published by Wally Finch. Advertising is free in this magazine. Contact Wally at wmbear1@bigpond.com to subscribe and to advertise.
If you check the main ABPA website, there is a link on the Home page to a Register of Modern Bush Poets. This lists the details of poets along with their merchandise - so you can contact those who have recorded CDs if you are interested in procuring material.
Hope to see you continuing to interact with us on this Forum.
Cheers
Shelley
