It was out along the Barcoo, at a little shanty pub, that all the stockmen know
When this old chap he came stumbling through the door.
An ridge didge folks this is what happened.
Now steady up old fella, as he reached for me beer, sorry he said, but I need that, as he caught his breath and started to stutter a tale about his newly married wife.
You see I’m nearly 70 an I been married nearly six weeks an me missus she’s only twenty two, Yah see, she’s one of them mail order brides.
An I tell you what! she’s don’t look to bad either
Hey fella, I can’t talk to well cause me throats dry, an yah don’t mind buying me a beer do yah. Well after a quick mouthful he continued.
Now I remember, he said she’s what you call a nympha? or some word like that I can’t remember the rest of the name, but you knows what I mean.
Anyhow she is always at me for more, no matter how much I gives her, it ain’t enough she always singing out to me for more, more struth, she’s wearing me out I’m getting thinner as the days go by. I tell yah, it don’t matter if it’s in the kitchen or the bedroom, she wants more.
Hey mate buy another beer will yah What, yah won’t buy me another beer!
How in the hell do you expect a fella to keep up his strength chopping all the firewood that she wants.

Now Bill, the Australian Pocket Oxford Dictionary has entries for " Barcoo rot", " Barcoo sore " and " Barcoo spew ", no entry for " Barcoo root ". I rest my case Your Honour.
