Ellis Campbell
Ellis Campbell
Hi Manfred
Thanks for your concern regarding Dad - he is truly a fighter!!
He is still feeling a bit overwhelmed by everyone being so concerned but would like the following note to be submitted.
Ellis Campbell and family wish to sincerely thank the many kind friends who have sent letters, cards and emails or telephoned with good wishes. Ellis is continuing to recover following a heart attack just prior to Christmas. The family is very appreciative of all the support shown by the bush poetry network.
Kind Regards
Leona

Re: Ellis Campbell
Manfred, that's very nice to receive a message like that. I have seen Ellis Campbell in action a few times round the traps, I wish him well and a good recovery.

Good to know Ellis is on the road to recovery - I have never had the pleasure of meeting him in person but greatly admire his work so my best wishes are winging his way.

Here is an update on Ellis, the Gosford Bush Poets sent him a card, here is a reply from his daughter updating his condition
Hi Peter
This is just a quick email on behalf of my dad Ellis Campbell. He is now in a specialist aged care unit at Orange Base Hospital. This weekend when visiting we took down the lovely card from your writers group and Dad was very appreciative. He asked me to email you to say thanks for thinking of him.
He is still battling along with some days better than others. He was able to recite some poetry yesterday and was feeling very clear headed so it was a lovely day to visit. He is very frail since suffering heart failure at Christmas and is still struggling to gain motivation for reading or writing. However, the medical staff are still positive of a good outcome so we keep hanging in there!!
Regards
