A suggestion for the new committee.
The Tamworth Poetry Reading Group have run the Golden Damper and Blackened Billy competitions at the Festival for the last 25 years. This year they called it a day and the ABPA will run it next year.
How about an event during the festival where thanks is given to the group, with as many past winners as can be assembled reciting their winning poems.
Before I ever heard of Bush Poetry there were many of our now established performers who got their start on stage at these competitions.
Just a thought
