Terry,

Right on the mark....could have been writing about my mum or my mother-in-law visiting Tom and Felix. Married 60 years + and true love to the end.

Beautiful Terry, I love it when a poem brings me to the moment, it's like I'm siiting there, watching the scene unfold, sadly, it's an all to often scene taking place in hospices and nursing homes as we speak.Thank you for sharing.

Hi Trace,
One of the things I notice about a lot of elderly people is their gentleness, it's almost like they have lost any aggressiveness they may have once had. When compared to people of to-day, it's appears that they have come from a more chivalrous era. There is still the odd old firebrand but by and large really elderly seem quite gentle to me.

Thanks Sue,
We've all seen examples haven't we of couples who's love for each other has stood the test of time, it can be very touching to see the interaction between some old couples. Unfortunately it so often ends when one of them is stricken with dementia.
