The Wog

Post by Bob Pacey » Sat Sep 03, 2011 8:10 pm

Sorry about the capitals that's how i used to write them to put on the deli counter.

THE WOG

T'WAS ON A BUILDING SITE IN SYDNEY
ON A FINE CLEAR SUMMER DAY
AND THE SIGN OUTSIDE SAID
WANTED HARD WORKERS FOR FAIR PAY.

SO LUIGUI TO THE OFFICE WENT
HE HAD BEEN OUT OF WORK SO LONG
HE KNEW THE BOSS WOULD WANT HIM
HE WAS HARD AND FIT AND STRONG.

OK THE BOSS SAID STERNLY
START ON THE JOB RIGHT NOW
BUT THERE ARE RULES YOU HAVE TO FOLLOW
COME ON I’LL SHOW YOU HOW.

WE DON’T HOLD MUCH WITH FIRST NAMES
YEAH NICKNAMES ARE THE GO
YOUR ITALIAN SO WE’LL JUST CALL YOU “WOG”
THAT'S EASIER YOU KNOW.

LUIGUI COMPLAINED SO STRONGLY
BUT THE BOSS WAS HAVING NONE
COME HERE AND I’LL INTRODUCE YOU ROUND
TO SHOW YOU HOW IT’S DONE.

THIS FELLA HERE IS GREEK YOU SEE
SO WE JUST CALL HIM NICK
AND ANGUS IS A SCOTSMAN
SO “MACK” IS JUST AS QUICK.

THE IRISH BLOKE IS PADDY
THAT'S HIM WORKING DOWN THE BACK
AND THE AUSSIE’S NICKNAMES WACKER
BUT WE JUST CALL HIM “WACK”.

THEN THE BOSS SET THEM TO WORKING
THE JOB WAS REALLY ON THE GO
EVERYTHING WAS GOING DANDY
TILL THE CREW STOPPED FOR A BLOW.

THE BOSS LOOKED OUT THE WINDOW
TO SEE THE WHOLE CREW MILLING ROUND
THEY WERE BEATING UP LUIGUI
WHO LAY SQUIRMING ON THE GROUND.

TO STOP THE FIGHT HE HAD TO QUICK
SO IN A BOOMING VOICE DID DRONE
HEY NICK. MACK.PADDY,WACK,
LEAVE THAT BLOODY WOG ALONE.

The purpose in life is to have fun.
After you grasp that everything else seems insignificant !!!

I may not always succeed in making a difference, but I will go to my grave knowing I at least tried.

Oh Bob You had to put a lot of thought and time into this after you had the last verse down pat!!!

Like the old Slap-Stick comedies, you know what's coming but you watch and laugh anyway!

Thank you Bob,

Eliza
It's never to late; just do it
I'll set pen to paper
Write now, not later
And post it so others may view it

Was one of my earlier efforts Marty I've got a bit more sensible since then ???

Used to put these on the Deli counter in the supermarket seemed to stop people from complaining about waiting to be served.
