POETS LAMENT
‘I am busy writing a pantoum’, so he told me full of gloom.
It was not an easy write, kept him awake for half the night.
Maybe I should leave the room and take my Mazda for a zoom
give him space to see the light and organize that pesky write.
It was not an easy write, kept him awake for half the night.
I’d go and see another who wrote poetry, that’s what I’d do.
Give him space to see the light and organize that pesky write.
The night before had been bad too – for he was working on Haiku.
I’d go and see another who wrote poetry, that’s what I’d do.
She was looking somewhat pallid said she was writing a ballad,
the night before had been bad too – for she was working on Haiku.
Everything else was invalid – for their tea they’d just get salad.
She was looking somewhat pallid said she was writing a ballad.
Some cold chicken and some brie would do to feed her mob for tea
everything else was invalid – for their tea they’d just get salad.
She’d no time now to cook tea, far too busy with poetry.
Some cold chicken and some brie would do to feed her mob for tea.
She was tired, words don’t fall right if you have been awake all night.
She’d no time now to cook tea, far too busy with poetry.
Give poets space to see the light and organize their pesky write.
