Shinobu Ishihara
Stephen Whiteside 26.10.2011
Hail Shinobu Ishihara,
Enemy of smudged mascara,
Name exalted nearer, farer.
Are you colour blind?
Studied ophthalmology
In the Japanese Army.
Here's a number. Can you see?
The curly squiggle find?
Lent his surname to the test.
Long ago, yet still the best.
Choose some dots, discard the rest.
On that he could have dined
In restaurants with pomp and swank.
The finest wines he could have drank.
Whacked a whole stack in the bank,
The deepest treasure mined.
Instead he scorned all luxury.
Lived with great simplicity.
Surplus, gave to charity.
A gentle man, and kind.
Shinobu Ishihara

An increadible Bloke Stephen, reminds me a bit of Albert Sabin ... selfless individuals who contribute freely to the betterment of mankind. Nothing like our F@#$n bankers who do the exact opposite ...

Hi Stephen,
I think you have a Trivia Pursuit card stack on your desk in the 'ideas' tray!!
Keep at it Stephen, it won't be long before the ABPA will have enough Poems of Historical Fact to publish a Text book for Social Studies in schools; so much easier to absorb that list of dates and names.

It's never to late; just do it
I'll set pen to paper
Write now, not later
And post it so others may view it
Word dancer is happy
