Blindness
Oh, please do listen, to those beautiful sounds,
Of the lovely gentle tinkling, of the Bell birds.
The Currawongs in the mountains calling,
in a strange but haunting tune,
While the creek is gently murmuring,
to a lovely sweet refrain.
Can you hear the laughter of the kookaburras,
singing out their joyous song,
And those noisily magpies chortling,
in a happy carefree way.
To hear the gentle lowing of cattle,
the busy twittering of wrens,
And I hear the gentle murmur of the breezes,
as they sigh amongst the trees.
The quiet rustling of the grasses,
And those noisy parrots squabbling in the bush,
That mournful cawing of a crow,
and my old dog he’s whimpering for a pat.
Oh please let me listen to these sounds;
for they are music to my ears,
As I quietly sit on my veranda listening to it all,
for you see I’m blind, and cannot see at all

Re: Blindness
You've got some of my favourite sounds in there Bill. They are music to my ears too

Yes, all the wonderful things we take for granted.
Thank you Bill.

G/day Bill
Yes you only have to stop and listen and it's all around you isn't it
I've always noticed that when you're in a remote area with no outside distractions how attuned you become to nature.
Yet it's all around you even in the suburbs, but you miss most of it because there's so much else going on as well.

It's amazing Bill, how some who have lost a sense e.g. sight, have other senses greatly enhanced, like you have depicted here.
