Mt. Toolebewong

© Stephen Whiteside 25.09.2012

Sing me a song of Mt. Toolebewong.
It needn’t be clever or terribly long,
As long as it’s jaunty and rattles along.
Sing me a Toolebewong song.

To get to the summit of Toolebewong
You needn’t be cunning or terribly strong,
Just follow the track as it wobbles along
To the top bit of Toolebewong.

But never confuse it with Wongebetool.
That is the middle and first and last rule.
You’ll look like a simpleton covered in drool,
A moron, an oaf, a great dunce, a big fool,
And they’ll send you at once to a very strict school
For calling it Wongebetool.

I’m sure that you’ll call it Mt. Toolebewong.
How could you get such an easy name wrong?
Toolebe-toolebe-toolebewong.
Sing me a Toolebewong song!

These photos were actually taken from/in the Warramate Hills, at the opposite (southern) side of the Yarra Valley to Mt. Toolebewong. I think the latter is hidden behind the tree at the left hand side of the top photo.

Thanks, Heather. I'd not heard of the Warramate Hills until I read about them in a book recently. They're actually not that easy to find, but well worth it when you finally do!
