Lament to the Little Birds

I have been planting native shrubs and bushes for a few years now and my yard is at times alive with birds especially Honeyeaters.
Unfortunately it has also become an attraction for all the local cats, the latest casualty was a Mud-lark; you may call them Peewees over your way.
Fortunately we have managed to keep the Sparrows and Indian Miners out so far, but it's an ongoing battle.

That's the trouble with being a prospector and speaking a West Aussie dialect Neville - not to mention also a rotten speller.
