I have been planting native shrubs and bushes for a few years now and my yard is at times alive with birds especially Honeyeaters.
Unfortunately it has also become an attraction for all the local cats, the latest casualty was a Mud-lark; you may call them Peewees over your way.
Fortunately we have managed to keep the Sparrows and Indian Miners out so far, but it's an ongoing battle.
