Traffic Jam

Traffic Jam

I know I said my favourite of jams was log. I lied.
You see, there was another jam till then I had not tried,
And so I did not lie at all. I was but simply wrong,
But now that I have tried it, well, I sing another song.

Traffic jam. Traffic jam. That's the jam for me.
It renders all the other jams into obscurity.
There's never any shortage. Why, it flows through every street.
There is no better jam to spread on top of toast and eat.

It's always multi-coloured, and it makes a lot of noise,
Which makes it good for adults, better still for girls and boys.
It comes in many pieces in a range of shapes and sizes.
It's a bit rough on the tummy, but in time it energises.

There's cars and trucks and buses, and there's bicycles and trams.
It is by far the most complex and tasty of the jams.
It's really quick to make (though you won't find it at the shop);
Just go down to the corner, and tell everyone to stop!
