What's A Tartlet?

Post by alongtimegone » Mon Jan 05, 2015 11:18 am

“Hey Blue it’s goat’s cheese tart-lets
I’m cooking up tonight.
The wife’s out with her girlfriends.
Why not join me for a bite.

Got a six pack in the Engel
and a bottle of Bundy rum.
Don’t like drinking all alone,
so Bluey are you right to come?"

“First tell me. What’s a tartlet?”
Bluey baited up his hook.
We were going after flathead
At the mouth of Kedron Brook.

“It’s a little tart” I told him.
‘L – e - t’ means small.
“You mean like when we’re fishing
And catching buggar all?"

“Not quite.” I said … then suddenly,
“I’m on mate. Grab the net."
"Aah stuff me … look at that.” Blue cried.
“It’s a bloody whiting-let.”

Clever and entertaining - you're really on a roll Wazza.

I could give you my private recipe for Coober Pedy Stew if you'd like to tackle something really classy mate.
