Don't do it H you will regret it .
I still long for my little 3 acre block.
and my golf has gone down hill as well. the guy two blocks over used to let me belt balls his way and would drop them back on his daily walk.

Good poem Heather. It's about the real Australia.
Don't tell anyone else but I like the way you have underdone the rhymes.

Re: Welcome to the burbs.
This poem was written after spending one very restless night in a suburban area of a country town - with nearly every of those noises experienced (and others on other occasions). It's going to take a lot of adjusting moving from my peaceful 40 acres to within earshot of other people. My friend said to me, "Welcome to the burbs" - and so an idea was born.
Thanks Allan, Ron and Bob.
Neville I prefer understated rhymes on most occasions - as you have probably realised by now.
