Autumn's Muse
Hellooo my bonza bards. The gremlins in my pc are apparently sleeping tonight...so...I'm chucking a few of mine on while I can!! (Plus Life is being crazy again...but good crazy.) They may have been posted before but as needs must. XX

The Autumn ushers in a brand new season
that gently scatters dreams of yesterday,
like fallen leaves in frolic, stripped of reason,
enraptured, on forbidden breeze they play.
They dance their secret whim locked in affection,
by forces unexpected, unexplained,
then shelter in the shadows of discretion,
in trepidation, flee what Fate ordained.
They suffer for belated captivation,
their verdant youth surrendered to the Fall,
more radiant in Autumn's fascination,
than ever prudence won for them at all.
And soon they shall be lost to Winter's urging,
the West Wind favours none who tarry so,
perhaps when Spring and Summer's moons are merging,
the vine may bid the lasting leaves to go.
And go they must ere all their seasons perish,
and with them sweet intentions, undeclared,
and yet, in silent eloquence still cherish
affinity, so seldom ever shared.
Then hand in hand stroll midnight's moonlight dreaming,
and lie together safe in musing's care,
and wonder of the future Fate is scheming,
and wonder of "what if's" and "why's" and "where".
And so, when you see Autumn's colours dancing,
and feel her fondly kiss you with her chill,
remember there's a distant muse romancing,
sweet Autumn's pledge, beyond her window sill.

You've been reading Shelley again
Goodonya Glenny wonderful to hear from you again, it was getting a bit slow around these parts.

Thank you Brenda & Hal, & Heather.
Not much time for writing new stuff yet but hopefully the muse will be patient with me.
