War

Post by Bob Pacey » Fri Aug 15, 2014 8:47 am

War

I see the poppies wilting
I see the tears flow.
I see our fallen soldiers
but still they choose to go.

The battle they are fighting
is one that must be fought
grieve their passing if we must
but don’t let it be for nought.

Memories going I cannot remember if I finished this post but Vera one of the locals in the park used my poem with her picture and it is now hanging for sale in the local gallery as part of their ANZAC memorial display.
