No Try
No try!
NO TRY?
Bugger!
They can’t possibly be for real?
Give me two minutes with the video refs
and they’d know the way I feel.
The game was won. It was over and done
when Inglis picked up that ball,
but a bleeding on field decision?
Nope! Too scared to make the call.
So up we go for second opinions.
and wait with bated breath.
No try! NO TRY?
I slid off my chair
Will this be a fate much worse than death?
Yes it will. Aah poop. I reach for the rum
to dissolve the valium in.
But cockroaches don’t have a very long life
So no worries - next one we’ll win.

Re: No Try
On the contrary Wazza, cockroaches are known to be great survivors.

Re: No Try
Just love it Wazza!
Recently at a fun poetry workshop I set a challenge for those attending to write a one verse poem on the subject "Out of the Blue" - just a randomly chosen theme with no preconceived ideas. It was just after Origin 1. Here is what the class came up with ...
OUT OF THE BLUE
Came the news
we beat the Blues
but only by one point!
Our plan was set -
we'd not forget
our victory in that joint!!
Roll on Origin 3 - and remember, the cane toads have conquered most of Australia - it shouldn't be too hard to stamp out a few cockroaches
Cheers, Shelley
