Re: Queenslander
State of Origin Two The End.
I’d brought some rum to celebrate but it’s still sitting on the ice
and the streamers and balloons I’ve packed away.
Oh I can handle loosing cause I’ve done it many times
but now I got to face those grinning Blues today.
The Blues they came out firing on a mission one might say
they really had the bit between their teeth.
Queensland made stupid errors that cost them lots of ground
with early penalties beyond belief.
Then Jennings clapped the pace on and slid across out wide
and Hodkinson he put the icing on the cake.
They had run our forwards ragged but Smith and Parker then combined
and Matt Scott left them lying in his wake.
The Queensland defence was torrid as they got into the grind
but their ball skills in attack were just not smooth.
Then Pierce kicked that ball to Morris and the refs ruled it a try
and the roaches seemed to slot into the groove.
We seemed devoid of answers to this surging cockroach tide
but our forwards tackled everything in sight.
then when Slater passed to Boyd who sent Inglis in to score
I thought that this was gonna be our night.
Fourteen to ten at half time and a win was not a dream
then Thurston made a play that turned the tide.
when Gillett stepped between their forwards to dive over the line
I thought look out here comes that Queensland pride.
Thurston kicked a penalty with twenty minutes still to go
and we seemed to almost snatch a winning lead
But Woods powered through our forwards to place it near the sticks
and the Blues were poised to make maroon hearts bleed.
I jumped and screamed in sheer excitement as Greg Inglis sped away
But a knock on ruling made me start to cry.
when Pierce fired that ball to Dugan and he slid between the sticks
that is when I knew the end was nigh.
Well that was it, all over I slumped back in my chair
but to win or loose will always be the way of sport.
They have equalled up the series but there is one game to go
and I know their taste of victory will be short.
The last games on at Lang Park on Queenslands hallowed turf
The place we call the cauldron that they fear.
we all know our team will rally to seize that valued shield
on that ground that every Queenslander holds dear.
So celebrate the win you roaches for you know what lies in store
Queensland will rise again another shield to snare.
On the field where Origin was born, sweet victory will be ours
and once more the Queensland cry will fill the air.

Re: Queenslander
Down to the decider next week.
State Of Origin Three 2015
They tell me that a cyclone is building off the coast
and it is going to be a ripper, so they say.
But the cyclone here in Queensland is gonna hit on Wednesday night
and our team is primed and ready for the fray.
The Blues are feeling cocky spruiking how their teams the best
they’re on their game and just can do no wrong.
Well you just keep believing all the rubbish that you spruik
cause Queensland will make you sing a different song.
Who is this fella Klemmer ? that they say can turn a game
and create a cockroach dynasty once more.
Well we’ll soon see just how tough he is on Lang Parks hallowed soil
I don’t think he has a clue what lies in store.
Trash talk all ya like mate it doesn’t really change a thing
our pack is gonna cause you oh such pain..
If you think it will be easy to make ground as in game two
I tell ya mate you’ve gone right off ya brain.
Cooper Cronk is fully fit and heading back into the fray
and Thurstons rested now and playing great..
New South Wales plays for each other, a bonding so they say
But the Queenslanders, they’re playing for their State.
There will be no quarter given, a series now is on the line
and this is when our team is at their best.
For a Queenslanders never beaten till the final whistle blows
and you can feel the passion rise in every chest.
Robbie Farrah, Michael Ennis who cares which one they play
they are just another jersey on the field.
On the ground where Artie Beetson showed them how to play the game
they will quickly learn our team will never yield.
The Blues will start to panic as they’ve done in times gone past
the look on every face is one of fear.
Under Wally’s watchful eye our victory will be so sweet
for another dynasty is quickly drawing near.
Yeah come on up here Gallen and bring ya cockroach mates
you are all the motivation that we need.
Our Canetoad armies on a mission to reclaim the shield once more
and we love to see you crying as you bleed.
QUEENSLANDER.
