A GRAVE MISTAKE

Post by Cropduster » Tue Feb 10, 2015 11:12 pm

A GRAVE MISTAKE

Counting candles on a cake
Tends to be a grave mistake
Measured worth is not so trite
As counting candles set alight
Count instead the ones you love
Whilst the ground you stay above
Soon enough they're cut asunder
When they put you six feet under
Folk will weep and folk will wail
Then set forth down life's long trail
Pay respect on their own terms
While you my friend are food for worms

Short and sweet but the message holds true - we should indeed count the ones we love and thankful for each and every one of them. Nicely done Allan - I must have missed this when you posted it.
