THE JOURNEYMAN

Post by Cropduster » Sat Dec 12, 2015 2:13 pm

THE JOURNEYMAN
A have journeyed over mountains high.
I have sailed the seven seas.
I have walked across your desert sands,
taken refuge 'neath your trees.
I have spoken in your native tongue.
I have read your holy verse.
I have seen the best intent of man,
I have sadly seen the worst.
I discovered that for every act
of kindness and good will,
there are acts of mankind so perverse
to make the lifeblood chill.
So it's search for peace and happiness
that has seen me settle here -
a haven and a respite from
a world that's racked with fear.
Now with mind as clear as morning air
'neath unpolluted skies,
I view the world with reborn hope
through optimistic eyes.
I watch as two young children play
exploring parts unknown,
and settle back with beer in hand
and know that I am home.

Welcome home Allan. I had a smile on my face at the end of that one.
