MEMORIES
Allan Cropper ©
In moments of indulgent quietus calm,
I meander through mazes of memories past,
selecting those images carefully farmed,
both nurtured and tended so they ever last.
Weeding out recounts that matter too little
to free up the beds for those treasured the most.
Occasionally stumbling upon jewels and chattels
that tickle the tastebuds, and pleasure mine host.
For these recollections, hid deep in the brain
are often the sweetest of blooms in the field.
A long lost acquaintance, a place or a name
That never before did the flower bed yield.
Yet yield it now does, and at once in a flourish
a satisfied smile takes up perch on my face
and lay there I must while my thoughts are renourished
by a memory brought forward to prominent place.

Re: MEMORIES
Good one Allan. My time for memories is after lights out, but not for very long.

Well thought out Alan

Re: MEMORIES
You have captured those moments beautifully Allan. I pictured myself sitting beside a stream-thoughts drifting with the ripples-lovely.
