Just wondering
I spent a bit of time reading old posts from the last few years this afternoon, and I noticed that a lot of the posts contained peoples reference to comments made by Matt McLoughlin, however, non of his comments appear anywhere in the posts, only other people referring to, or answering his comments. it looks as if any conversation he has had has been deleted, anybody got any idea how or why?...I used to enjoy his input.

Re: Just wondering
Hi Ross
About two years ago data maintenance was done on the forum. New rules had come into place restricting posting rights to ABPA members only - though read-only access was still open to all.
During that process, some data was lost. Several attempts have been made to relocate and restore it, to date without success. I'm not involved myself, but I understand from our administrators that it is a long and time-consuming exercise with this type of database.
It's a pity - but such are the fickle fortunes of cyberspace.
Cheers

G/Day Ross
There was a lot more to it than that Mate.
It all harks back to the nonsense that went on at the time and that many people are still in denial of.
It's also the reason that so many of our past friends left the forum.
I also miss people like Matt and all the others for that mater.
Cheers

Re: Just wondering
G'day mate, yeah bit sad, I noticed something going on some time back but never really got a handle on it, had a few other life (and death) issues going on myself and sort of drifted away too. I have noticed that the site is pretty much stagnant now which is disappointing....

Re: Just wondering
Just as a matter of interest, I have managed to get in touch with Matt and in fact spoke with him last night. I had to scrounge around looking for numbers and contacts but with some help from some of our old mates I managed to make contact with him...thank you to all concerned. He, like the rest of us misses the old days of friendship and banter we shared on here, maybe one day it will be revived...I hope so.

I feel very much on the outer in all of this and don't really understand what happened but I, too, miss the old days, and live in hope that they can somehow be revived.

G/day Ross
I think most of the regulars if not all, know what happened mate.
I have been keeping more or less in touch with Matt by email once or twice a year,
which reminds me it's about time I dropped him another one.
As for getting things back to as they were, it would be great, but I doubt it's going to happen - hope I'm wrong.
What's that they say about unscrambling an egg - I guess we can but live in hope - meanwhile we're all getting older.
Cheers

Re: Just wondering
Maybe someone can talk Matt into coming back and re-posting?
I also loved to read his words.
Would love to see a revival of sorts - things may never be what they used to, but always the chance that something better will arise - like a phoenix from the ashes!!
