Thanks Everyone for the comments I have always been a fan of our unique language. As the posts from our American friends shows it's much more colourful then that Yo and Bro stuff.

Told a young bloke in the park the other day that if he had an accident on his bike he would be in trouble as they would probably turn his head around to make his hat fit properly.

I brought The Ringers Book Of Outback Terms & Phrases a few years back out at The Longreach Hall of Fame ( note must check if there is an updated copy ) and from there on I was hooked.


Started writing the verse then and have been back to it numerous times since. Still not really happy with it but well it can be a work in progress.

We should make sure we never lose these unique terms and phrases " What ya reckon Manfred Mate "

Used to only have a couple of names until I started on this site Darren ( Bob when I was good and Robert was only used by my big sisters and misses when I was in trouble ) seem to have picked up a few more !!!!
